FAQ
WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE NETWORK?
An affiliate network is an intermediary between advertisers (brands, service providers) and affiliates (publishers). Advertisers generate “offers” targeting a particular product or service which they hand over to the network, along with a brief of the user targeting preferences and restrictions. The affiliate network will then match the offer with the best suited publishers, depending on the type of traffic the respective affiliate is running.
Here at Glize, we see ourselves at the catalyst for highly profitable affiliate marketing relationships between Advertisers and Affiliates. Our proprietary ad server solution and Big-Data driven real-time statistics enable us to generate high volumes of quality, qualified leads for our Advertisers, whilst helping our Publishers grow and scale their online revenues.
WHAT IS A CPA NETWORK?
A CPA network is an affiliate network focused on the monetization of online traffic through Cost-Per-Action Campaigns. Affiliates are therefore paid every time a visitor to a publisher’s website (or app) completes a specific action, commonly called CPA.
WHAT DO AFFILIATES DO?
Affiliates (also known as “publishers”) are owners of web properties (various online websites or apps) with an established user base, which they direct to various offers, depending on the type of traffic/vertical. Affiliates are constantly searching for the best offers for their traffic sources. and the industry hosts many affiliate marketing companies. There are multiple affiliate networks just like Glize that try to pitch the best offers to affiliates. Generally, publishers will select offers not only based on payouts, but also based on the relevancy of the offer compared to their audience.
One of the key benefits of being a Glize affiliate is the access to a unique portfolio of own and exclusive offers that Publishers won’t find anywhere else. The exclusive offers combined with some of the highest payouts on the affiliate market are sure ways to make money online.
WHAT IS MEDIA BUYING?
Media buying has gained attention for being one of the most popular ways to make money online. Media buying refers to bidding for online users and buying online traffic from websites, networks or affiliate programs in order to monetize that traffic by promoting offers from Affiliate Networks or Advertisers.
As Media buyers get paid by the offer owners, networks like Glize play an important role in the affiliate marketing industry, especially as we provide access to a wide portfolio of exclusive offers from direct partners worldwide.
WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE?
An affiliate is the individual (or business) that promotes advertisements for products and services (based on offers supplied by advertisers) in exchange for a commission. Usually, affiliates work under the terms of an Insertion Order, promoting the offers based on a set of creatives provided by the advertiser (or affiliate network). The creatives could be links, banners or text ads which the affiliates use on websites or social media to generate traffic to the webpage where the online product is sold (also known as landing pages).
Due to the dynamic nature of the online marketing environment, affiliates are almost entirely based online. Here at Glize, we accommodate the active mindset of affiliates by offering a state-of-the-art traffic management platform, high converting creatives and marketing tools, and real time in depth statistics like no other program

WHAT IS AN ADVERTISER?
An advertiser is a person or business that wants to begin promoting (or scale the promotion of) their product. Advertisers contact affiliate networks to discuss their product and the offer they wish to promote. It is then the affiliate network’s job to find the right affiliates in their network to promote the offer.
Glize has a large base of affiliates specialized in promoting Mobile, e-Commerce, Dating, Nutra, Lead Generation, Sweepstakes, Utilities, Digital Content, Dating, products and offers, so advertisers with related products approach us because they know that their investment will be utilized by affiliates who specialize in their particular vertical/niche. This improves traffic quality for the advertiser, increases commissions for the affiliate and matches customers to products they want.
WHAT ARE CPC AND CPM AND HOW DO TRAFFIC NETWORKS USE THEM?
Online advertising is sold under a few basic pricing models. Media buyers resort to affiliate networks that allow them to bid on advertising placements across the web. These bids define the costs that are paid for specific actions. The most popular ones are CPM and CPC. CPC stands for Cost Per Click. This means you only get charged when someone clicks on your advert.
CPM stands for Cost Per Mille. CPM stands for Cost Per Mille (which means per 1,000 impressions). This means you get charged when 1,000 impressions of your advert are shown, regardless of how many times someone clicks on your advert. This price can differ depending on bids and does not take into account how many clicks the advertisement receives.
Some campaigns are better suited for CPC or CPM. Some affiliates prefer to use one metric over the other. There are benefits to both. Typically, CPC is the preferred metric, as it is easier to directly tie ROI and gather effective data from. The affiliate also has greater influence over the cost; the better the banner/advertisement (“creative”) is, the cheaper the cost will become.
HOW DO DIFFERENT MEDIA TYPES AFFECT EPCS?
Different types of media perform differently, therefore they have different costs. For example, in the case of display banner advertising a regular banner placement will generate traffic by appearing in high-volume places around the web with enticing reasons for potential customers to click.
In the case of pop-unders on the other hand, they would open automatically after someone visits or closes a specific site. Every time the pop-under opens, a click is registered. The frequency that this happens is much higher than the previously mentioned clicks on display.
As a result such, you will pay varying prices for varying types of media, and some will be more suitable for one campaign over another. Experimenting with different types of media can positively affect earnings-per-click with substantial testing.

However, there are cases when even more important than the payout amount is the overall performance of the campaign. Performance is best measured by “EPC” (earnings per click).
